On dispose l'unité de sorte que le poinçon reçoive l'effort du plateau supérieur d'une presse ou d'une presse-plieuse. Portant à la partie supérieure du c, dans l'axe du poinçon un téton de centrage, les unités sont positionnées par un gabarit en tôle et permettent le poinçonnage de plusieurs trous de diamètres différents en une seule opération.
